Definition: Product Feed

What is a product feed?

A product feed is a structured file or data format that contains information about a company's products. It serves as a comprehensive source of product information that can be distributed and syndicated across various online platforms, marketplaces, and advertising channels in a standardized and automated manner.

A product feed typically includes data such as product titles, descriptions, unique identifiers, prices, availability, images, and other relevant attributes.

Although the uploading of product data onto each channel can be done manually, this approach is time-consuming, prone to errors, and difficult to scale, especially when dealing with a large number of products or multiple sales channels. With a product feed and the use of the Product Data Syndication feature of a Product Information Management (PIM) system, companies can cut down on the time needed to publish their product data on all channels, automate data synchronization, and maintain data accuracy and consistency across various channels.
